If you have ever tried poutine, then you probably understand why it has been around for over 50 years with multiple people trying to lay claim to inventing the masterpiece. Cheese curds, french fries and gravy. So simple, yet so flavourful. There are tons of stories dating back to when the dish was first created including the famous tale that restaurateur, Fernand Lachance, who said, "ça va faire une maudite poutine" ("it will make a damn mess") when asked to put a handful of curds on some french fries. Damn, what a delicious mess it did make. The rest is history! Whether you enjoy your poutine classic or you like to add crazy things to it like peas and turkey, we can all agree that the world is a better place with poutine in it. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to make a delicious mess of our own, Provincial Pub’s duck poutine.
