South side edmonton welcomes new gastropub with local focus

For Immediate Release

(Edmonton, AB) - Being independently owned and proudly Albertan, Provincial Pub is a brilliant addition to the Edmonton resto-pub scene. Co-owners and long-time Edmonton hospitality industry folk, Jason Yen and Scott Martin are not afraid to go all-out in offering South Edmonton the flavours and atmosphere that are typically only found in downtown gastropubs. Join the Provincial team at their Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, February 21.

To complete the team, the Provincial crew brought on Chef Cedric Boegler to build a menu that rivals some of the top restaurants in Edmonton. Boegler's background boasts the likes of Red Ox Inn and Woodwork to name a few, "It feels like the sum of my history and experiences as a chef has prepared me perfectly for the tone and atmosphere of Provincial. My skills are very much at home here."

Menu highlights include the the Braised Pork Belly with carrot puree, roasted brussels sprouts and honey garlic gastrique - yes, this is a neighbourhood pub. And yes, the food and drink prices are still very affordable.

The pub is warm and comfortable, yet airy and open. You can find comfortable nooks in every corner; the library, which is sectioned off, has couch seating and a wood burning fireplace. The main room is reminiscent of a German beer hall with long wooden tables with rot-iron fixtures. It's a far-cry from what used to be Overtime Pub.

Provincial Pub has an uncontrived authenticity that is rarely found anymore. It is a place where you can feel at home with your friends, yet still have a delicious and affordable meal.
